100th Day of School Celebration!

We had our 100th day of school yesterday, but we had our celebration today.  I just couldn't get my act together to get everything ready yesterday.  So, we had our fun today, on the 101st day of school.  Don't worry, Lachlan kept reminding me that it wasn't actually our 100th day today.  He is such a stickler for the rules and how things are supposed to be.  He keeps me on my toes, although I still don't do everything I'm supposed to do!  I think, more than prepare so that he stays happy, I just get myself mentally ready for his wrath.  Anyway, I digress.  Here are some photos from our 100th day celebration/our 101st day of school.

This was our special 100 day snack.  A pretzel and two donuts.  The perfect snack (or in our case breakfast...don't tell anybody)!

Enjoying our breakfast, a I mean snack.

Aevie going to town on her powdered sugar donut.

The kids working on their 100 day crowns.

They actually wrote 100, 100 times!  I was so impressed.  Talk about determination!

Lachlan's journal entry about what his mommy asks him to do 100 times.

Aevie's journal entry.  She said I ask her to clean her room 100 times.  Me?  Really?  Ok, maybe she's right.

Proof of writing 100, 100 times.

Happy with their royal 100 day crowns.
We also did ten exercises ten times to equal 100.  That math was blowing the kids minds!  We counted how many jumps and spins they could do in 100 seconds too.  Those were some fun 100 day activities.  The kids got into trying to do as many things as they could in 100 seconds.  They also ran for 100 seconds, but I didn't know how to count running.  Anyone?  All around it was a fun day.  I think the kids enjoyed everything even if it was technically our 101st day.

Egg Free, Dairy Free Donuts

For the donut batter

1    cup self rising flour
1/3 cup sugar
1    teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2    Tablespoons cold Earth Balance Natural Buttery Spread (the best stuff ever)
1    Tablespoon rice vinegar
1/2 cup rice milk
1    teaspoon vanilla

For the glaze

1    Tablespoon rice milk
1/2 cup powdered sugar
sprinkles!!!

Combine self rising flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.  Cut in cold buttery spread until the mixture turns into coarse  crumbs.  In a separate bowl mix together rice milk, vanilla and rice vinegar.  Pour the wet mixture into the dry until combined.  Grease a donut baking pan with Earth Balance buttery spread.  Pour donut batter into pan until each mold is 3/4 full.  Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.  Let donuts cool.  While donuts are cooling off add together the rice milk and sugar for the glaze.  Top the cooled donuts with glaze and sprinkles.  Enjoy an allergy friendly very sweet treat!

Sweet Valentines

We had a Valentine's Day party!  The kids and I had a great time decorating for our Valentine's party.  We cut out hearts till our hands hurt!  All of our party decor was made from supplies we had hanging around the house.

We used this cute little Coca Cola bottle set to display our heart lollipops with attached Valentine cards.  We also added a few paper flowers with heart shaped petals and chenille stems.

These are our place mats.  We used foam alphabet stickers to personalize our doily heart place mats.

We made this heart mobile using a wooden dowel and tying hearts onto it with ribbons.

The kids had fun cutting heart shapes into these paper snowflakes.

I tried making conversation heart cookies.  I got a little tired so I didn't go all out and use different colored icing.  I think they still turned out decently cute though.

This sweet Valentine of mine was showing off her crafty work from the party.

Heads cut off, crazy faces, wiping sleeves across noses.  Yep, it's the best picture I  got from this crew!

I haven't had time to write lately.  Actually, I have had some time to write, but I haven't physically been able to type anything.  Well, I have been physically able to type, but I haven't wanted to.  I'm tired.  I want to sleep.  I can't think straight.  I feel emotionally exhausted.  I feel physically exhausted.  I feel like I can't take another step or think another thought.  It's Ilsa.  She's not sleeping.  She wakes up every two hours at night.  She doesn't want to eat baby food, so she wants to nurse all the time.  I have nothing left to give.  Seriously, I have nothing left to give.  I can't keep up with her.  She's happy about it though, don't worry about her.  She loves getting up at night and she loves spitting baby food out and she loves to scream about being hungry.  She's having a great time.  Meanwhile I'm physically and mentally wasting away.  I'm not sure I'm really typing right now.  I am sure I'm not making any sense.  I know I have no brain left and am pretty sure I'm sleeping right now.  Cheers.
